Antananarivo and its stunning surroundings

Overview

Antananarivo is such a charming City with its colorful houses and smiling people. As the center of Madagascar, this big city is worth visiting for starting up a trip across the island. It shelters many part of Madagascar’s history and cultures. During a sightseeing, you will figure out much better about the island of Madagascar. Moreover, you can also discover and enjoy its beautiful surroundings such as the Royal sacred hill of Ambohimanga, the Lemur’s park , Ampefy and etc.

Itinerary

Antananarivo (TANA) – Ambohimanga – Ampefy – TANA(4 days/3 nights)

TOUR DETAILS 

              Day 1: ANTANANARIVO- AMBOHIMANGA -TANA

We will meet at the hotel in Antananarivo and drive northward through the vibrant city to visit the King’s Palace on the Blue Hill of Ambohimanga at around 22km from the City. This cultural site has being classified as world heritage by the UNESCO since 2001 . During the visit,you will find all the Royal period witnesses such as palaces with old ustensiles , royal tombs, royal sacrificed area and so on. In the afternoon, will will make the sightseeing of Antananarivo. This big city is the heart of Madagascar’s history that shelters many historical monuments and cosmopolitan friendly people.

             Day 2: TANA – LEMURS Park – AMPEFY

After breakfast, we’ll drive westward following the beautiful RN1 to Ampefy. Along the way at 25 km from city,we will visit the LEMURS Park where you will discover some diurnal lemur species that live in freedom such as the ring tailed lemur (catta lemur) dancing lemur (Sifaka) , black and white ruffed lemur, and so on. After that we will visit a cyclerickchow village where we have a look of workshops of zebu cart maker and handicraft. After lunch we continue through the tapis forest to Ampefy.

             Day 3:GEYSER – LILY’S WATERFALL – ÎLOT DE LA VIERGE

This day, we will explore this volcano region. After breakfast,we drive towards to the Geyser of Amparaky. Along the way, you can enjoy the beautiful volcano landscapes of the area with its papaya plantation on the both sides of the road. After that we drive back to the famous waterfall of Lily and the island of vierge mary where you will have a stunning view of Itasy lake which is the third biggest lake of Madagascar. This day visit will enable you to meet local people and see their daily lifestyle .

             Day 4: AMPEFY -TANA

After breakfast, we drive back to Antananarivo and have lunch in Tana
