RN7 South Tour Madagascar

Overview

This is the kind of tour that brings you southward to Tuléar by the famous national road RN7 of Madagascar. From Tana,you will pass through villages of the highlands and admire such  a wide variety of beautiful landscapes . Apart from that,you get visits of national parks for wildlife  like ranomafana national park , Anja Reserve and Isalo national park. What distinguishes this tour is that you will get opportunities to meet the smiling Malagasy people and discover their diverse cultures and traditions as well as enjoy the sunshine of nice beaches at the end.

ITINERARY: TANA – ANTSIRABE – RANOMAFANA – RANOHIRA – IFATY( 9 days)

TOUR DETAILS 

      Day 1: Arrival at Ivato Airport – Antananarivo(Tana)

Tongasoa /welcome !! We pick you up from the airport  to the hotel in the city center of Antananarivo. It depends on your arrival international flight  but for day arrival, the traject will give you already a before taste of the unique charm of Madagascar’s landscapes

          Day 2: Tana- Antsirabe 

After breakfast, we leave the capital and take the national road RN7. Along the way, we will have a visit to an  Aluminum foundry workshop in Ambatolampy and enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the highlands. Arrival at Antsirabe, check in and experience the cycle rickshaw tour in the city.

       Day 3: Antsirabe – Ranomafana

Before driving to Ranomafana,we will have a visit to a miniature and zebu horn crafts workshop  where you will observe the work of passionate and talented locals. Then we will take the RN7 and have lunch in Ambositra ,the town of woodcarving crafts which makes it very well known across the world. Uponon arrival at Ranomafana Village,we will meet our experienced local guide for the night Walk to spot the small mouse lemur,frogs and other reptiles.

      Day 4: Ranomafana national park 

After breakfast,we will make a visit to this famous national park. As a tropical rainforest, spotting its unique wildlife is the emergence of all visitors here. With our experienced local guide,you will encounter as possible the target species of the park such as golden bamboo lemur, great bamboo lemur,etc as well as amphibians and reptiles.

After a nap in the afternoon, you can walk in the village and go to the warm swimming pool for relaxation.

      Day 5: Ranomafana – Ambalavao – Ranohira

This day, we will take the RN7 back to Isalo. We stop in Ambalavao  to visit the  Antaimoro paper workshop  then drive to Anja Reserve for a visit and lunch there. After that, we continue the road to Ranohira. Along the way, you pass through villages and other different landscapes.

         Day 6: Isalo national park 

After breakfast, we drive to the starting point of the hike. Here,we are accompanied by an expert local guide who works passionately and gives you all the details about this famous park. During the visit, you will discover its clean natural swimming pools that  give you the opportunity to relax before continuing the hike. Around noon,we will arrive at the end of the circuit and encounter some groups of lemurs such as sifaka , ring tailed lemur and other reptiles. After a picnic lunch, we  will drive back to the hotel and have a nap before driving to the famous window of Isalo for a stunning sunset.

      Day 7: Ranohira – Ifaty

We leave the village of Ranohira in the morning and continue our journey southwestward. Along the way, you will find many different lifestyles of the local people such as sapphire searching  which is very common in Ilakaka village. Further to the south, we pass by decorative tombs of Mahafaly and Sakalava as well as wide pastures of cattles. At midday we will have lunch in Tuléar and then carry on the road to Ifaty.

         Day 8: Ifaty 

This day ,you will visit the Reniala reserve ,as the name says the mother of forest (Reniala)so you will see  baobabs in there as well as the turtle village. After that,  you will be free  to  enjoy the beautiful weather and beaches of Ifaty.

      Day 9: Flight back to TANA

This day, we take the flight back to the capital. Or you can extend your stay and enjoy more days on  beaches there.
